The Opening Day of the 2013 Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market (AMSFM) scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2013 has been cancelled due to weather.

Opening day of the third annual Main Street Farmers’ Market was set to feature over 30 vendors, with the ceremonial ribbon cutting to be held at 9a.m. to start the farmers’ market season.

“Farmers market is the traditional kick off to summer and Mother Nature would like us to start next week.” Said MSCD Executive Director, Cari Hague.

Opening day is now set for Saturday, May 11. A ribbon cutting will be held on that day at 9a.m.
The market season will continue to run each Saturday from May 11 – September 28, where the vendors will offer fresh Iowa-grown fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, arts, crafts, artisan breads, fresh flowers, plants, wine, organic soaps, and more. The first 50 people to arrive at the Market and purchase an item from one of the vendors will be given a cloth AMSFM bag for all their goodies... Read more
